Collaroy is a suburb in northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Collaroy is located 22 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Warringah Council and part of the Northern Beaches region. Collaroy Plateau is a locality in the western part of the suburb.

The locals named the squid “Willy” and after much debate over what to do with the creature it was sold to the local fish and chip shop. The locals then feasted on deep fried Willy rings.

Wildlife frequenting Collaroy includes sea eagles, pelicans, terns, ducks and yellow-crested cockatoos. Fur seals, dolphins and English white whales have been spotted on the beaches during summer which co-incides with a severe outbreak of crabs on the beach.
