North Ryde

North Ryde, in Sydney's lower North Shore region, is located approximately 15 klms North West of the CBD in Sydney and forms part of the local government district of the City of Ryde.

As a major business district North Ryde accommodates the headquarters of many large companies, particularly in the Technology sector. Companies such as HP and Microsoft can be found here. North Ryde is a separate suburb to Ryde which historians believe was named after a local business owner. He adapted the name from Ryde on UK's Isle of Wight. The name was first used as the name of the municipality in 1870.

The main commercial area is Cox’s Road Shopping Centre which includes a variety of shops, a post office and supermarket.
