Mosman

Mosman is a New South Wales suburb, located on Sydney's Lower North Shore approximately 10 kilometres north east of the CBD of Sydney. It falls under the Municipality of Mosman.

Mosman is belived to be named after Archibald Mosman who was granted land in the area around the year 1831. Along with his brother, Mosman was involved in shipping and whaling. By the end of 1839 he owned around 110 waterfront acres. European settlement began in 1789 when the First Fleet arived at Mosman Bay.

Landmarks include the Mosman War Memorial, Allan Border Oval, Balmoral Beach and nearby is the famous Taronga Zoo, Bradley's Head and Sydney Harbour National Park.

Mosman shopping centre features many restaurants, cafes and boutiques and can be found on Military Road between Bradley Head Road and Middle Head Road. More shopping areas can be found at Spit Junction.
